Acceptable Use Policy

Effective · June 1, 2026

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the Church Gains website, application, and services (the “Service”). It works alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By using the Service you agree to use it only for lawful, ministry-appropriate purposes and in a way that protects the people whose data is entrusted to your organization in Planning Center.

2. Your Responsibilities

Church Gains acts on your Planning Center data on your behalf. You are responsible for:

  • Authorization. Connecting only Planning Center accounts your organization is entitled to access, and only granting access to staff and volunteers who should have it.
  • Accuracy of writes. Reviewing AI-extracted and AI-proposed changes before they are committed to Planning Center. The Service surfaces a confirmation step; approving a change is your decision.
  • Consent and notice. Having a lawful basis to process the personal information of the people in your church or organization, including minors.
  • Account security. Keeping your login credentials and any API keys confidential, and notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.

3. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

  • Violate any law, regulation, or the rights of any person, including privacy and data-protection rights.
  • Access, scrape, or store Planning Center data belonging to organizations you do not represent, or attempt to access another customer’s account, data, or Spaces.
  • Upload or process data unrelated to the legitimate operation of your church or nonprofit, or use the Service to build a competing dataset or model.
  • Use the Service to harass, profile, surveil, or discriminate against individuals, or to make solely automated decisions that produce harmful effects on a person.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service; circumvent authentication, rate limits, billing, or trial enforcement; or introduce malware or other harmful code.
  • Reverse engineer the Service, or use automated means to place unreasonable load on our systems or on the Planning Center API beyond documented and intended usage.
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted in writing.

4. AI Features

The Service uses AI to extract data from forms, answer natural-language questions, and propose changes to Planning Center. AI output can be incomplete or incorrect. You agree not to rely on AI output as the sole basis for pastoral, financial, legal, or safety decisions without human review, and to treat all AI-proposed Planning Center writes as drafts until you approve them.

5. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access to protect the Service, our customers, or the people whose data is processed. Where practical we will give notice and an opportunity to cure, but we may act immediately for violations that threaten security, legality, or other customers.

6. Reporting & Contact

To report a violation or a security concern, contact us at support@churchgains.com. We update this AUP from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
